Speech #19
At the meeting

In the speeches I have delivered over the past year, I have emphasized many times that one of the main goals of our nationalist-political movement is not only to preserve our independence, but to achieve real sovereign statehood and guarantee its development. I have personally cited historical as well as current examples of how our enemies have tried in the past to eliminate our independence and how they continue to do the same today. Of course, I have also repeatedly explained why it is not only important, but necessary, for us to show serious resistance to this entire anti-Armenian phenomenon.
I have also spoken about our army, which is the most important component of our independence. But I believe it is necessary today to speak a little more about our army and its importance, because our enemies and the Armenian traitors cannot eliminate our independence unless they first destroy our army from within. This is a simple truth, because without independence there can be no army, and there can be no independence without an army.
Years after the war, we have constantly heard how the dictator of Baku continues, both directly and indirectly, to threaten our country with arrogance. Those threats have not decreased or softened, but have increased and intensified. It seems that the more the current treacherous government speaks about “peace,” the more the Azerbaijanis speak about war. In practice, Azerbaijan continues to expand its military potential by acquiring various types of new weapons, because the enemy insists that it must be ready for war at any moment.
Meanwhile, the one occupying the prime minister’s chair in Armenia, and his entire circle, place false hopes on “peace,” saying, for example, that in the 2026 budget there will be no significant increase in expenditures or in defense spending at all. After the war, the current government has tried to show that it has improved the condition of the army by allegedly increasing the military budget and purchasing new weapons. But through our own research, we have proven that all of this is merely for show and statistical manipulation. It is as if they deliberately display that they are “developing” the army so that they can once again blame any future defeat on the people, as they did in the treacherous 44-day war of 2020.
Our enemies are preparing for war and, within their country, promote militarism through warlike rhetoric, while the neo-Bolshevik Armenian traitors prepare for “peace” and, within our country, promote obedience through empty talk about harmony. One prepares to dominate, the other to submit. And in your opinion, in this world of power relations, where a bloody struggle is waged for every square meter of land, which force will prevail and hold the future in its hands?
Of course, the treacherous and anti-Armenian policies pursued by our government correspond to their pitiful and cowardly nature. They keep our society under hypnosis, placing a pillow under people’s heads, but we have no doubt that this entire “peace” agenda will one day collapse like a house of cards on the heads of those very “peace-lovers.” It will make it obvious to everyone that it is impossible to reject the laws of nature and still “live well.” It will cruelly show that by rejecting the laws of nature and the necessity of struggle, we are rejecting peace, life, and our future.
Let us learn from our enemies and understand what comes before what. We can also learn much not only from our enemies, but from our sworn “ally” Russia, remembering the words of its Emperor Alexander III: “Russia has only two allies — its army and its navy.” They understand very well that the army is the backbone of the state, yet they do everything so that we deviate and forget this simple truth.
The current ruling treacherous clique superficially pretends to develop our army, but at the same time openly says that it does not care about the army’s development. They say, for example, that the army should not even be the second, third, fourth, or fifth instrument of security, but rather the very last one. They also say that the less important the army is, the safer the country is, which simply contradicts logic and historical experience.
With such Orwellian nonsense, the treacherous neo-Bolsheviks hypnotize our compatriots and wash their brains. They want to say that “legitimacy” is the guarantee of our security, and that the army cannot be a guarantee of security because there will always be an army stronger than ours that will defeat us and take our land by force. This is simply absurd, because there will always be someone stronger than the strong. If we follow that logic, it would mean that small states by territory and small nations should not have armies at all, since the armies of great powers will always surpass them. But reality is the exact opposite: small states and small nations are obliged to place even greater importance on developing their armies so as not to be crushed under the feet of great powers. Let us recall Nzhdeh’s very wise words: “Small nations must, by necessity, be more patriotic than large ones — we, more than all.”
They think that “legitimacy” on paper is more important than an army filled with weapons and warriors, which is both ridiculous and tragic. Someone should ask them: what if a state with a strong army appears and, disregarding our “legitimacy,” crushes our weak army — which has become our last guarantee — and occupies our lands, as has happened many times in history? If we have a powerful army but not their so-called “legitimacy,” at least we will have the opportunity to resist a stronger army and even to win. But if we only have empty “legitimacy” without an army, we will simply be doomed to destruction. These childish people either truly believe their immature statements, or they deliberately seek to further mislead our already misled people.
Is it really so difficult to understand that legitimacy does not come from the air, but flows from strength — from our armed forces? “Legitimacy” without an army is in reality an illusion of security that cannot last long and will soon collapse when the enemy once again begins to speak to us in its favorite language. This false, neo-Bolshevik “peace” agenda is nothing other than a conspiracy to disarm and bring the Armenian nation to its knees — a noose that our enemies and Armenian traitors want to deceptively wrap around the neck of our state.
When a true nationalist political force comes to power in Armenia one day, it will put an end to all this madness. It will clearly understand and continuously instill in all our citizens that our army must not be the last, or even the third or second instrument of our homeland’s security, but unequivocally the first and foremost. The future national state we build will free our compatriots from this hypnosis and teach them the simple truth that without demonstrating strength and fighting for your land and legitimacy, you not only cannot, but do not even have the right to call yourself a state or to exist in this ruthless world. There is no other way than struggle and fighting.
Earlier I said that our enemies are preparing for war, but looking at what is happening in our region and in different corners of the globe, we can see that the entire world is preparing for war. And this incompetent government thinks it can keep Armenia isolated from all of this, as if we live on a completely different planet. These Armenian-traitor neo-Bolsheviks inherited a victorious state and a liberated Artsakh, yet in 26 years they not only failed or refused to fully unite Artsakh with Armenia, but led us to a disgraceful defeat. And now they think that, having inherited a defeated state, they can lead us to a prosperous and peaceful future. Anyone who truly believes their false promises is either very naive, truly foolish, or engaged in self-deception. It does not matter whether that disgraceful defeat was the result of treason or mere incompetence, because both are unacceptable to us. The fact is that it happened under their rule and because of their willing cooperation, without which our external enemies could not have harmed us.
Seeing the Turkophilia of these treacherous scoundrels, I often recall Vlad III, the fifteenth-century ruler and national hero of Romania, who is considered a controversial figure in history. I am not a historian and therefore have not deeply studied his actions, but I know the important part: Vlad III did not kneel before the Turks and beg for peace, as the Armenian-traitor neo-Bolsheviks do today, but imposed his will upon them. Instead of greeting the Turks with smiles and “hearts,” he greeted them with swords and stakes, which earned him the nickname Vlad “the Impaler.”
He ruled the southern region of Romania known as Wallachia, and when the Ottoman Turks approached his borders, they saw that from the impaled bodies of their compatriots hung placards that read, “Welcome to Wallachia.” Crossing the border and seeing this sight, the Turks would think that this time they had invaded the wrong country…
By taking such measures, Vlad gained a reputation as a very cruel and merciless man, and even hearing his name frightened the Turks. This psychological terror helped the Romanians drive away Turks who surpassed them in resources and keep them away from their homeland’s borders.
Whatever historians say about him, we Armenians have much to learn from him. We should not resort to actions like Vlad’s, but we must understand that force must be answered with greater force, and blows with even more powerful counter-blows. We can restrain the Turks and our other enemies and establish peace on our own terms only by becoming a force factor and preparing for relentless struggle.
However, to see a good example, we do not need to go so far back in history. Even in the modern era there are many examples. I have often mentioned the example of today’s Poland, which is gradually becoming the most militarized country in Europe in order to be able to resist Russia’s imperial ambitions. There, the spirit of Pilsudski’s resistance is being restored, and we too must restore the spirit of Nzhdeh’s struggle and chivalry in our country in order to overcome the many challenges before us.
In any case, it must be emphasized that even if the current government had truly strengthened the army, it would not change much if they continue to pursue the same defeatist, concessionary, and peace-begging policy. What use is a strong army if they continue to inject servility and obedience into the people and promote an ideology of surrender?
Before the 2020 war, under both the “former” and the “current” authorities, it was said that our army was the “most combat-ready” in our region, and various types of new weapons were often displayed. But as it turned out, all of that meant nothing, because the treason and the conspiracy against Artsakh had long been organized. We lost that war as a result of treason, because we lost most of our lands after signatures were put on paper, which resulted in thousands of our various weapons ending up in Azerbaijan’s hands. That war showed that a strong army, without the correct political objective, restoration of fighting spirit, will to win, and proper political leadership, actually has no value.
Therefore, before solving military problems, we must first solve our political problems. When we solve our political problems — by bringing about a national revolution through our national political movement and building a true national state — we will have the will and the clear purpose to build a combat-ready and victorious army, through which in the future we will be able to restore an independent, united, and strong Armenia.
A strong army not only guarantees our security and independence, which in turn brings real and lasting peace, but also guarantees the existence of our future generations and, in turn, the continuation of our nation. Therefore, I would like to remind everyone of one of the important slogans of our movement: “A strong army, impregnable borders, a steadfast Fatherland.”
