Speech
#16
At
Ohanavan
Five years ago today our nation
heard a terrible piece of news that placed our homeland and state before new
and grave dangers. Decent Armenians who live with a strong sense of duty and
patriotism — cannot forget that day which seemed to turn our reality upside
down. It remains vivid in our memory, and every time we recall it anger wells
up in us, because that day was the day when we changed from a victorious nation
into a defeated one, and after carrying a victorious mindset we began again to carry
a defeatist mindset.
After the victory of the
Artsakh liberation war, it felt as if we had opened a new page in our history,
because that war showed the world and all Armenians that the Armenian nation
can not only defeat the enemy by fighting, but by launching a counterattack can
also liberate its historic lands. For a long time we believed we had closed the
shameful pages of our history’s defeats, but the betrayal of November 9, 2020
brought us face to face with new facts. We saw that just as the neo-Bolsheviks
in the 1990s would not allow the final settlement of the Artsakh issue by
uniting Artsakh fully with Armenia, so too those same neo-Bolsheviks five years
ago treacherously stabbed our army and state in the back by signing a shameful
and humiliating document that constitutes a direct threat to our independent
statehood.
The November criminals
continue their treasonous, Bolshevik forefathers work, while we — Armenian
nationalists — are obliged to carry on the work of our freedom fighters, always
keeping their immortal memory alive. Their freedom-loving examples continue to
inspire and reassure us that not all is lost; that we can rise again and once
more become the terror of our enemies. They have shown us that in life the
important thing is not how hard you can hit, but how you can rise up again
after taking a heavy blow, move forward, and deliver a more powerful
counterstrike to the enemy.
The accumulated anger and
hatred we carry within us toward all those responsible for the betrayal of
November 9th must be directed toward constructive purposes. It must give us the
energy and drive to redeem ourselves before our history through rational
actions. That is precisely why I created our movement. Hosank — yes, as an
organization, it was founded about four years ago, one year after the war, with
the goal of igniting the spark of the coming new Armenian awakening. It was
founded a year after the war, but the idea itself was conceived in the trenches
of Artsakh — on the 9th of November — heralding the dawn of our future ascent.
No matter how much our enemies
and traitors try to bring us to our knees and suppress our spirit of resistance
— by endlessly talking about their false “peace” agenda — we, the Tseghakronists
well know that this fight is not over. This struggle will end only when not
only Artsakh is liberated and united with Armenia again, but also all our other
historic lands now within Azerbaijan’s borders. We have no doubt that when we
again begin to believe in our potential, unite, and once more become a force to
be reckoned with, we will be able to completely neutralize all the threats of
the enemy, keeping that fabricated, criminal, and terroristic state permanently
on its knees.
No matter how much they try to
instill their defeatism and surrender ideology by hypnotizing our nation, they
will not be able to remove the dream of forging Greater Armenia from people
like us, because it is deeply embedded in our genes. We have a duty to those
who came before us and those who will come after us. We inherited that dream
from our heroic ancestors and we will pass it to future generations until it
becomes reality. All those who bravely fell and heroically became martyrs in
the treacherous 44-day war will not be forgotten; moreover, the national state
to be forged by our determined struggle will be built in their memory, and the
seeds of the restoration of Greater Armenia will be watered with their blood.
Many will call us “dreamers,”
“romantics,” or “fanatics” when they hear such words from our lips, but we have
no problem with that at all. Better to be like that than a beggar, a coward, a
weakling, a slave, and a traitor. We must carry the same pro-Armenian mindset
our freedom fighters carried, by which they won and liberated Artsakh. They
were martyred, they died, but their idea and spirit did not die and cannot die.
The enemy thought that with
this war they could kill our fighting spirit, extinguish our long-held dream
and turn the last page of our history, yet they have no idea: when they try to
act this way, they actually provoke a reaction, because from that moment a new
and loftier struggle, new and greater dreams, a new and more glorious future
are born. They thought it would be the end of the Armenian nation, not
realizing that they, against their will, will produce the countercurrent of a
new, powerful Armenian movement. What does not kill us only makes us stronger.
Five years ago the defeat did
at least one good thing: it tore many masks off and sifted out opportunists and
fake patriots among us, for whom Armenia’s glory and honor either did not
matter at all or mattered little. It is now much easier to see people like them
than ever before. It showed that everyone is a patriot until the moment when
they must actually be patriotic. That is why now is the time for true patriots
to unite and organize under one national structure and continue the struggle by
preparing for the coming great crisis. We must show everyone what real Armenian
patriots are like, how we can hold our heads high for Armenia’s glory and
continue the struggle no matter what.
Our nation stands on the cusp:
either we will once and for all lose our independent statehood, or Armenia will
be reborn completely. Either we will perish ignominiously, or we will write the
most glorious page of our modern history. Thirty-one years ago our freedom
fighters carved out victory with their will, blood, and sacrifice, and our
enemies stole that victory from us through betrayal. That is why they will not
be able to enjoy their false victory for long. For the Armenian nation the time
of vengeance will come; the time to punish our enemies is near; the rebirth of
the Armenian nation is inevitable.
Our stance regarding November
9 is very clear: one day, without hesitation, we will tear that infamous,
anti-Armenian, and shameful document and throw it into the dustbin of history.
Let our enemies and their collaborators know well: it is not Armenia’s days
that are numbered, but the days of their dominance and tyranny. Armenia will
undoubtedly rise up and crush all the dark forces that threaten it. No matter
how times change and how civilization develops technically, the laws of the
universe cannot be altered. Force is the first law of nature, force gives birth
to right, force makes the world go round. Only with strength is there victory
and the salvation for the Armenian nation.
Therefore, we call out to the
whole world that we do not accept the agenda that the anti-Armenian forces want
to impose on our state: No to defeatism, no to concessions, no to surrender!
The struggle and resistance continues and will continue until justice is
established and the Armenian nation emerges more powerful and victorious once
again. We are the masters of our land, our future, and our destiny!
Glory
to the undying memory of our fallen brave ones and martyred heroes!
Glory to the Armenian Army and glory to our coming victory!
Armenia - AWAKE!
