I still come across statues in different parts of Yerevan that catch my attention — like this one, which also resembles the emblem of "Hosank." On the statue is inscribed a quote by Nzhdeh, which I hadn’t read until today: "Only the brave are heard and aided by the capricious God of war." This is similar to the well-known Latin saying: Audentes Fortuna Iuvat, which means, "Fortune favors the bold." Indeed, in these critical and decisive times, we must engrave Nzhdeh’s words deep into our minds. Analyzing the words of our Sparapet (Commander), we see that he means the God of war does not listen to the weeping, does not support the fearful. He despises hesitation, pities weakness, and rejects mediocrity. His gaze falls only upon the brave. Only those who rise against the storm, who fight without guarantees — they are the ones to whom that fierce and willful God of war lends His ear. Victory is His mercy — granted only to those who deserve it.That is, victory is not a gift handed to just anyone — it is the Creator’s mercy, given only to the bold, the fighters, those who prove themselves through their conduct, determination, and self-sacrifice. Therefore, we do not beg fate — we command it. We do not bow before fate — we lead it. As long as there is courage in our hearts, the Creator is on our side, because the Creator’s help depends on our fearlessness. The Creator is not neutral — He chooses the side of the valiant.
