We, the Armenian nationalists, do not accept the concept of a “Third Republic,”...

We, the Armenian nationalists, do not accept the concept of a “Third Republic,” which is merely a post-Soviet, semi-independent (de jure independent) republic subservient to the Russian Federation. Naturally, we also reject the anti-national ideas of a so-called “Fourth Republic,” which would make Armenia subservient not only to Russia but also to Azerbaijan. These terms are inherently anti-Armenian, because in reality, there has never been a “Second Republic.” What is referred to as such was nothing more than the illegal occupation of Armenia by the Soviet Union, where, of course, there was neither sovereignty nor independence. Therefore, if there was no “Second Republic,” there can be no “Third,” and even less so a “Fourth” Republic.

We oppose this entire madness, because these vile ideas contradict the true interests of our nation. It was precisely for this reason that in 1991—rather than proclaiming the Republic of Armenia as the legal successor of the First Republic (which was destroyed by the Bolshevik-Kemalist alliance)—the Kremlin’s neo-Bolshevik agents operating in Armenia created an artificial new republic (while Azerbaijan declared itself the successor of its own First Republic), so that the Russian system could de facto continue its occupation and dominance over Armenia. To accept and apply the concepts of a “Second,” “Third,” or especially “Fourth Republic” means to embrace and support the enemy’s agenda—trampling upon the very idea of independence and betraying the mission of the Armenian nation’s liberation struggle.

However, it must be emphasized that when we say Armenia must become the legal successor of the First Republic, we do not mean that we should return to the old system of governance. Becoming the successor of the First Republic means accepting the legal foundations of that republic, which encompassed the greater and most vital parts of Greater Armenia. Once we become the continuation of the First Republic, we can make a natural and smooth transition toward a truly national state—building an "Arkayapetutyun", which will be a proper and logical synthesis of constitutional monarchy and meritocratic rule. We must take from history what is necessary, cast away from the present what is harmful, and add for the future what is essential for the development of our nation, the prosperity of our Fatherland, and the strengthening of our state.
