One hundred and five years ago, in the mountains of Syunik, Garegin Nzhdeh and his brothers in arms created the Davit Bekyan Oaths—sacred vows dedicated to our nation and our Fatherland. These were not mere words, but oaths that gave birth to unity and an unyielding will to withstand a numerically superior enemy, and which in the end brought victory.
Today, in the 21st century, we once again stand at the same crossroads. Syunik is once again in the enemy’s sights, while within our own ranks treachery, weakness, and division prevail, and from the outside come the unending threats of our sworn enemies. It is precisely in such days that the oaths must be revived, for the oath binds not only the individual, but the entire nation—making us one will. In this age of cynicism and indifference, the revival of the Davit Bekyan Oaths means to restore our honor and spirit through loyalty and sacrifice.
That is why our organization, though still small in number, has taken upon itself the personal responsibility to once again bring to life what Nzhdeh created almost exactly one hundred years ago. For us, this is not merely a visit, but the continuation of that sacred oath. We do not swear for display; we swear because we know that the fate of the Fatherland depends on the truth of our word and the strength of our just cause. When every decent Armenian—even if only a minority—becomes an oath-bearer, Syunik will not only never fall, but step by step we'll build the independent, united, and powerful Armenia of our dreams.
The Davit Bekyan–Nzhdehyan Oath must become the oath of the entire Armenian nation.
