I have never been a gambler, nor have I enjoyed it...

I have never been a gambler, nor have I enjoyed it. I have never liked betting with anyone over money, and I have always hated casinos, considering them a Jewish invention. Born and raised in California, I have been to Las Vegas only twice—and even then, with friends, purely out of curiosity. However, there is a saying in America that I have always liked and repeat whenever someone tries to make a bet with me over something. It goes: “I only gamble with my life, never my money.”

The meaning behind the saying is this: an effective person values honor, truth, higher principles, and freedom above mere wealth. Such people are ready to risk their very existence for a meaningful and sacred struggle, but they are not willing to waste their time on chance, because earning money is merely a tool—a means, not the purpose of life.

Gambling with money means leaving your life dependent on luck, which is simply foolish. Gambling with life, however, can mean choosing to face dangers, difficulties, and challenges—being prepared to fight to the very end for something far greater than money or even your own life. This is risk taken with dignity and respect, which every person bearing personal responsibility should take if they wish to leave a lasting mark in the pages of history.

Yet people usually live the opposite way: they tremble for their lives while wasting it trying to get rich by luck. A person with high awareness and dignity does the opposite: they see their fleeting life as a means worth staking boldly for eternity, while money is something far too trivial to place above everything else.

I have lived my entire conscious life by this philosophy, and it was the reason I decided to leave my career, family, and friends in the United States and move to Armenia—leaving behind comfort and putting my life at risk—because with all my heart and soul, I believe in this true path of struggle, which I continue to walk, which is why I am ready to give my life for this cause, because that is the only way we can achieve victory.
