Because a new film about The Odyssey was released last month, and yesterday Armenia's National Assembly held the first session of its ninth convocation, I was once again reminded of Odysseus' return to his kingdom of Ithaca. Upon returning from the Trojan War, he learned and saw how the freeloading, uninvited guests had been insulting the members of his household, humiliating his servants, and, in general, defiling his palace through their shameless behavior and vile manners.

Whenever I think of this, I cannot help but draw a metaphorical parallel to our current situation, where for the past 35 years these treacherous, freeloading scoundrels have been defiling our National Assembly, insulting, deceiving, and misleading our compatriots, while trampling on our national interests in order to fill their own feeding troughs and advance their personal interests. Other than betraying the Armenian nation and spitting on our dignity, what have these neo-Bolshevik uninvited guests actually done, having usurped our country's media and political arena?

In these days, let us always keep the example of Odysseus in our minds and possess his patience...
