Russia is not “losing” Azerbaijan, as many Western newspapers...

Russia is not “losing” Azerbaijan, as many Western newspapers and journalists mistakenly believe, and Armenia and Azerbaijan are not “kicking Russia out” of the region, as many clueless analysts here think. This is actually a false impression created by Russia itself, because in reality, it is further strengthening its position in this region. Russia needs to be able to deceive people into thinking it is losing influence here, in order to have an excuse to continue its expansionist policy in the near future—justifying it as an act of “self-defense” against the West. This time, it will deploy its forces entirely within the territory of the Republic of Armenia, just as it did in Artsakh, presenting itself once again as “peacekeepers.”

To do this, it the Kremlin waiting for the right moment—to give the green light to the Baku tyrant to attack Armenia, so it can once again present itself to us as a savior. Throughout human history, almost without exception, all empires have pursued expansionist policies under the guise of “self-defense,” and Russia is no different. And what better excuse than the claim that the West is “stealing” Armenia and Azerbaijan from Russia, weakening its position in the region?

Russia will not lose its influence over the South Caucasus unless its state collapses internally, as happened with the fall of Tsarist Russia and the Soviet Union. Only in such a case can we expect that kind of scenario. As long as post-Soviet Russia remains relatively stable, it naturally won’t let this region slip away easily, because it considers it a matter of vital importance. The plain truth is that Moscow and Ankara want to divide this region between themselves once again, just as they did a hundred years ago, and “establish peace” at the cost of Armenia’s independence. To do this, of course, they will use their Zionist proxy state—Azerbaijan. At the core of the deal between these two predators lies the so-called “Zangezur Corridor,” which will lead to the total and final fragmentation of Armenia.

The Armenian government wants peace, as does the Azerbaijani government. But the difference is that our government is ready to trade our independence for that peace—deceptively claiming it is actually strengthening it—while the Azerbaijani government is ready to use that peace to establish its dominance over our state, stripping Armenia of sovereignty and independence. And all of this serves the interests of the Russian Empire, because for them it has always been more favorable to see the Turks dominate this region than to see an independent and powerful Armenian state. History has given us many examples of this.

In any case, if we continue to have a slave mentality and a defeatist psychology, Russia’s departure will not automatically bring Armenia full independence, because that requires our own determination, dedication, and struggle to make that into reality. If we are not ready to fight and make sacrifices for our independence, then instead of having Russia as a colonial master, we will end up with Turkey—and why not—even Azerbaijan.

We can kick Russia out of this region and, in doing so, break the Russian-Turkish-Zionist alliance against Armenia, only if we begin today to prepare and organize for a serious Nzhdehian struggle—against Turks, neo-Bolsheviks, and traitors. When the Russian Empire begins to crack and collapse from within for the third and final time, that will be our signal to act.
