Our movement has repeatedly asserted with confidence that the Russian Federation will disintegrate into various regions, just as the Soviet Union broke apart into different republics following the collapse of the USSR. However, the situation in Russia has deteriorated to such an extent that even well-known Russian analysts are beginning to say the same thing, such as Ilya Remeslo, a Russian lawyer, political commentator, and pro-Kremlin blogger who became known in the late 2010s for aggressive campaigns against Russian opposition figures, especially Alexei Navalny. He closely cooperated with pro-government media and participated in legal and informational campaigns against Kremlin critics.

For many years, he was considered a strongly loyal figure to the Kremlin and Vladimir Putin. Russian opposition media and analysts often described him as part of the “Z-blogger” ecosystem or propaganda system that supported Russian authorities and attacked opponents.

Recently, he gained international attention due to his sharp reversal in 2026. He publicly condemned Putin, called the war in Ukraine a failure, and stated that Putin should resign and stand trial as a “war criminal and thief.” This was shocking for both pro-Kremlin and opposition circles, as he had previously been considered one of the system’s most loyal attackers.

He says: “I have the impression that part of the system is already beginning to work against Putin... This is essentially similar to what happened at the end of the Soviet Union, when people hated the (Communist) Party and did everything to bring it down. Putin’s Russia will follow the same path as the Soviet Union. Everything is repeating itself.”

This upcoming collapse will open a window of opportunity for us Armenians, and we must prepare for it.
