Yesterday, I somehow managed to listen to Paruyr Hayrikyan's criticism of Vazgen Sargsyan and Karen Demirchyan, and it’s unclear how many times this man has changed his stance in the last 50 years. Yes, Vazgen Sargsyan and Karen Demirchyan had many flaws, made numerous mistakes, and their past was far from spotless. However, the fact that they were shot dead in the Armenian Parliament due to an operation organized by the FSB is enough proof for me that they posed a serious threat to Russia’s anti-Armenian policies and dominance over Armenia's political arena.
The alliance they formed was the last true attempt of this "Third Republic" to fully integrate Artsakh ("Nagorno-Karabakh") with Armenia as a single state and to transform de jure independence into de facto independence. The Kremlin and their collaborators decapitated our military-political elite to ensure we wouldn’t even contemplate true independence. As far as I know, no other country has experienced such an assassination and terrorist act in its parliament, and this fact alone says far more, than the rants of Hayrikyan and the people like him.
