It has already been a little over two weeks since I have been living in the fatherland and I am very happy that I took the risk to leave Babylon and finally return home to the land of my forefathers. Of course, it is too soon to draw conclusions, there have been many difficulties and I will continue to have difficulties in the future, but I can say for sure that I have never felt happier. In the beginning of the year, I promised myself that before this year was over I would move to Armenia permanently and buy a house. Today I bought a house and once more with my fanatical willpower backed up what I said and put my money where my mouth is. I have found my life’s mission and purpose, and because of that, my life has become an adventure and no longer a miserable existence. Those who think that I would soon regret what I did and go back do not know me at all. Those who know me very well, know that I will take my ideas to final victory. I am very stubborn and determined on this issue and other people’s negative opinions and comments have never and will never distract me from my goal. The dogs will continue to bark but the caravan will always keep moving forward. Armenia is my country and I am here to stay for good and that’s that. When will our people realize that by emigrating and wasting their lives away in foreign lands, it will only bring suffering to our souls and not true happiness. When will we all understand that it is only in the fatherland that our souls will feel complete and at peace. We must all approach this problem seriously, because Armenians in the diaspora are on the verge of total assimilation and this is probably the last chance we have to save our people and bring them back home. I can say for certain, that I am not the only one who has heard the cry of the land. There are countless Armenians worldwide, who have also heard the cry of the land, but have not yet taken the necessary steps to answer that call. A new consciousness must emerge from within us, a consciousness where we no longer look at Armenia as just a tourist attraction, but as a country, where we Armenians must live, form a family and reproduce. We are living in very troubled times, but that it not news for us, we have lived through even more troubled times and if we were able to overcome those in the past, so too will we be able to overcome this as well. Call me a madman, a dreamer and a romantic all you want, but I will always believe in the greatness of Armenia, because I feel her potential and the blood of my great forefathers runs through my veins. No matter how many cracked streets and broken down abandoned buildings I see, no matter how many unemployed and poor people I come across, I can never relinquish my faith and dream in a Greater Armenia. That is written in my genes and I will take that belief with me to my last dying breath. - Hayk Nazaryan
