Today, on the most sacred day of the founding of our First Republic, let us once again remember Captain Gurgen Ter-Movsisyan, who was martyred during the May battles in Gharakilisa, and his defiance against the treacherous order that demanded Armenian soldiers lay down their arms and cease resisting the Turkish marauders. His statue must be erected in Vanadzor, so that all dignified Armenians may forever remember the brilliant, exemplary, and immortal legacy of our heroic Captain.
One Nation, One State, One Will
Glory to Victory!
“I will not obey that order. It is treason. No one has the right to treat the fate of the Armenian nation that way. At this very moment, I will head to the front with my cannons—to die. Whoever is a man and has Armenian blood in his veins, let him follow me!” - Gurgen Ter-Movsisyan
